Since 2015 Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society has trained more than 12,000 farmers free of cost, donated over 1,500 cows and bullocks, and certified 101 farmers as organic.

01 · First Saturday of every month

Free organic farming training

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society holds a free organic farming training camp on the first Saturday of every month.

The training gives practical guidance on soil and water conservation, improving soil fertility and health, crop planning and sowing, improved crop management practices, organic nutrient management, pest management, allied farm enterprises and more.

Since 2015 the society has trained more than 12,000 farmers. There is no fee, and non-members are welcome to attend.

02 · Field visits and crop-specific advice

Free farm advisory service

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society visits members' farms in person and gives free agricultural advice.

Crop-specific guidance is available for paddy, sugarcane, ragi, coconut, vegetables and fruit crops.

After inspecting soil condition, water availability and the current cropping pattern, the society prepares a step-by-step plan for converting the farm to organic practice.

03 · Seed, manure, bio-inputs and tools

Supply of organic farm inputs

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society sells seeds, saplings, organic manures, organic pest control preparations, organic remedies, bio-inputs and farm tools to farmers.

Inputs can be obtained at the society office or the outlet, or by phone / WhatsApp.

04 · Annual contribution ₹500 · 101 farmers certified

Organic certification

Any interested organic farmer in Mandya district may apply for organic certification through the society by paying an annual contribution of ₹500.

At present 101 farmers hold organic certification through Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society.

Society membership is not compulsory for certification; anyone farming organically in Mandya district may apply.

    Submit the application

    Fill the prescribed form at the society office and attach an Aadhaar copy and the land record (RTC).

    Pay the ₹500 annual contribution

    Pay the annual contribution of ₹500 to the society and collect the receipt.

    Farm inspection

    Society representatives visit the farm and inspect the cropping pattern and the inputs in use.

    Record keeping

    Records of sowing, input use and harvest must be maintained for one season.

    Certificate issued

    Once verification is complete the organic certificate is issued, and it is renewed every year.

Organic farmers' market (Santhe)

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society runs an organic farmers' market (Santhe) every Sunday and Wednesday.

The Santhe is held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in front of the District Horticulture Department in Mandya city.

Member farmers sell their own organic vegetables, fruit, grain, jaggery and cold-pressed oil directly to consumers.

06 · Bought above the prevailing market rate

Produce procurement

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society buys produce from its member farmers above the prevailing market rate.

This gives farmers a dependable income and reduces their dependence on middlemen.

07 · Sold processed or unprocessed to buyers

Produce sales

The society sells the produce it procures to buyers, either processed or unprocessed.

Buyers include the Organic Mandya company among others.

08 · Bannur Road, Mandya — opening in 2026

Organic retail outlet

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society will open an organic retail outlet on Bannur Road in Mandya city in 2026.

Both organic produce and organic farm inputs will be sold there; the location has been finalized.

09 · Over 1,500 cattle donated

Cow and bullock donation

Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society has donated more than 1,500 cows and bullocks to farmers.

The programme exists so that farmers can produce the cow dung and cow urine that organic farming needs on their own land.

Priority is given to small and marginal member farmers who are converting to organic practice.

How do I get organic certification in Mandya?
Any organic farmer in Mandya district can apply to Mandya Organic Farmers Cooperative Society by paying an annual contribution of ₹500.
